PARTIAL KNEE REPLACEMENT

Arthritis of the knee frequently affects only isolated areas of the knee. In these cases, it may be possible to perform a partial rather than total knee replacement. A partial knee replacement can be performed through a much smaller incision which allows a quicker recovery than total knee replacement.  Partial knee replacement preserves all of the natural ligaments of the knee which gives the patient a far more “normal” feeling knee with excellent post-operative function. Partial knee replacement generally has a lower complication rate than total knee replacement.
